Can a “surface mount” metered service panel be installed in a home and recessed into the wall and pass inspect
I am removing a 200amp metered service panel and installing a 400amp. The 400 amp is a surface mount rainproof. Can this be installed semi-flush? And pass inspection?
If you’re not requested and fill out written form for your local electric office(Per mite).Any changing in entry power it has
violation .But if you have permit you can put any kind of meter
as long as UL proof and local electric proof with 3″feet around open and grounded.Make sure entrance cable will Cary 400amp .For this amp entrance cable should be #0gage
aluminum or copper.
