How do I use a drum rack?
I have been playing drums for a while now, and I have been using a starter kit, just regular drums put together with cymbal stands in between, hanging over them. I am now wanting to change my setup, because I am starting to acquire more cymbals and I need more room,(the cymbal stands take up too much space.) I was thinking of getting a rack like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gibraltar+-+Curved+Rack+Starter+Pack+-+Chrome/9041477.p?skuId=9041477&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=9041477&ref=06&loc=01&id=1218011768973 , and I was wondering if this was the right thing to do if I should put all my cymbals on this, and save the money and space instead of those crowding cymbal stands. Will my toms fit if there is a rack there? Is this worth it?
We would suggest this curved rack. Curved bars look beautiful vs the dull square racks. The main function of curved rack bars are, they will allow instruments and accessories to be placed closer to the drummer within easy reach.
The Gibraltar – Curved Rack features 2 curved wings that allow you to position percussion on either side of the drummer. 2 cymbal boom arms and 4 multi clamps can hold tom arms or cymbal boom arms.
The only problem for this curved rack is, when you first time tighten the clamp enough to actually hold the weight of a tom you’ll have a dent on the curved bar, but this should be livable.
